Let's Get into it...

Because every great upset deserves its moment in the spotlight.

Whilst I'm sure there are plenty of underdog stories that could contend with this list, these are the big 5 that instantly sprung to mind.

5. South Korea – World Cup 2002 Semi-Finalists

No one expected this. South Korea knocked out Italy and Spain en route to the World Cup semis, backed by wild home support and some, erm... generous refereeing. Still, the passion was real and the thundersticks unforgettable.

4. Iceland – Euro 2016 Quarter-Finalists

Population: smaller than Coventry. Impact: massive. Iceland not only qualified for their first major tournament — they knocked out England. Their Viking clap became iconic, their teamwork unbeatable. Heroes that will forever remain villains in the eyes of England fans.

3. Greece – Euro 2004 Winners

Greece went from total outsiders to European champions. They defended like warriors and made set-pieces look like penalties. With the help of Bolton legend Stelios Giannakopoulos, the Greeks defeated host nation Portugal in the Final. Not the prettiest football, but definitely the smartest. Legends.

2. Nottingham Forest – Back-to-Back European Champions

Promoted in 1977. Champions of Europe by 1979. Twice. Brian Clough’s Forest side are a shining example of what is possible with hard work, determination and some proper football style. Retro football at its finest — and a manager fondly remembered and respected.

1. Leicester City – Premier League Champions (2015/16)

5000/1 odds. Vardy on fire. Kante everywhere. Mahrez on another planet. Leicester shocked the world, and lifted the Premier League trophy while the rest of us rubbed our eyes. A season of captivation, carefully overseen by the endearing Claudio Rainieri.

Dilly ding, dilly dong - football magic!
